The English International School is a small English-language primary
and middle school that opened in 1992. The school was founded by a
group of parents who wished to give their children an international
education in English.
It presently has 200 students on roll from 5 to 14 years of age.
The school is situated in the municipality of Rosà, in the
province of Vicenza in the Veneto region of Italy. The school is
housed in a newly restored villa adjacent to a municipal sports
complex with playing fields, indoor and outdoor pools and large
gyms.
Students are predominantly Italian with an increasing number of
English-speaking and non- Italian students. Class teachers are trained
and qualified in both England and internationally.
The Italian language is taught by Italian teachers in three weekly
sessions at the elementary level. However, from Year 6 to 8, students
are taught both in English and Italian with the option of a third
European language.
The school has effectively developed and implemented a unique curriculum
based on both British and international expectations and the Italian
Ministerial Curriculum. Both the primary and middle schools have
fully accredited status within the Italian state education system.
The school year runs from September to late June. Admissions are
made throughout the year based on age, ability and previous school
records.
During the summer the school is also open for a Summer Camp programme
involving English instruction and outdoor activities.
