INTRODUCTION
The International School of Bologna (ISB) opened in September
2004 to provide an international education for children aged 3-11
years. The school offers a curriculum designed to meet the needs
of Italian and International children living in the Bologna area.
CURRICULUM
The curriculum at International School of Bologna is based on the
Primary Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate Organization
(PYP). This programme is broad-based and lays the foundations for
all future studies. It stresses the importance of understanding
and
intellectual development across all subject areas.
STAFF
ISB teachers are professionals with a high degree of training, preparation
and expertise. All teachers are qualified and have several years
experience in British or international schools. They are selected
for their ability to create a stimulating environment for the children.
The school runs a professional development programme to keep all
staff up to date with the most effective teaching methods.
SCHOOL YEAR AND SCHOOL DAY
The School Day
The school day is from 8.50 to 15.30. There is a mid-morning break
of 20 minutes, and a lunch break between 12.00 and 12.30 when lunch
is served in the cafeteria. The younger children have a rest and
play during the afternoon when necessary.
