Founded
in 1947, the Aleardo Aleardi School is a privately owned school, authorized
by the Italian government, catering for children from 3-19 years.
The International Section, opened in 1996, now has a full entry from
nursery school to elementary, includes the first year of middle school
and plans to continue the school through to the International Baccalaureate
are already finalized. The Institute itself is situated close to the
centre of the magnificent, historical city of Verona, in a purpose-built,
prestigious complex, surrounded by parkland and including its own
outdoor and indoor sporting facilities, theatre, language and science
laboratories, IT resources and canteen. All Aleardo Aleardi School
teachers hold university degrees and/or recognized teaching qualifications
awarded mainly in England, or internationally. They share a broad
range of teaching experiences both in Italy and Europe with children
of different nationalities and cultures. The curriculum content, teaching
methods and assessemtn strategies reflect this, integrating modern
approaches to education with the experience consolidated over the
school's long history of primary and secondary education. Over more
than 50 years, the school has prepared its students for entry to respected
universities.
The student body is 80% Italian and 20% other nationalities, including
children from different continents, giving the school a full understanding
of the needs of international students.
The school prides itself on its approach to the development of the
individual student, academic standards being of equal importance to
sound moral and emotional growth. Field trips, special events and
theatre performances are organized regularly for all age groups aiming
to consolidate and integrate the strong cultural content of the curriculum
with the school's approach to education in general.
